A limited edition publication signed by the artist, to accompany the exhibition LILI.
Nika Kutateladze: LILI marks the culmination of Kutateladze’s residency period at The Perimeter, in which he developed a new body of paintings alongside a site-responsive installation in the neighboring Blue Lion pub.
Kutateladze’s practice explores migration, looking at the rural mountain villages of the Guria region in his native Georgia. Depicted through imagery of abandoned houses, found materials, animals and ghostlike human figures, his work investigates the instability of memory, disappearance and the fragile bond between people and the places they leave behind.
The catalogue includes photographs of the exhibition at The Blue Lion as well as an interview with the artist by Vita Skangale.
