The Perimeter is pleased to announce an upcoming exhibition, Hand Painted Signs, Photographs, Long Play Vinyl, Audiophile Bar, Printed Matter, with American artist Christopher Williams. Born 1956 in Los Angeles, Christopher Williams lives and works in Cologne and Los Angeles.
As part of a series of shows opening across Europe, this exhibition focuses on Williams’ pictorial works, featuring photography and moving image. Centred around a reading of The Perimeter’s collection, Williams’ has curated a selection of his recent and past works exhibited together for the first time. A rendition of post-world war images unfold as all elements of the exhibition become subject matter, including hand painted signs, photographs, films, a radio play, catalogue and open letter. This exhibition marks the artists’ first public solo exhibition in London after 10 years, following his presentation at the Whitechapel Gallery in 2015.
Accompanying the exhibition will be a catalogue titled, Christopher Williams: Photographs produced by The Perimeter. Designed by the artist and Petra Hollenbach, it will also include a text by art historian Stephanie Schwartz.
